In the middle of this quarantine I found myself exploiting Spotify's algorithms much more than usual, sometimes spending hours and hours looking for new music, without a particular direction apart from the momentary whims of my mood.
Given the lacklusterness of the street where I live, I decided to plug in my speakers, open the window and give the entire neighborhood a reasonable and not annoying dose of sounds. So as to just lift the spirits and deviate a bit from the usual national anthem of Mameli croaked tiredly and out of schedule at 18:00.
I also started collecting various new music and some old preferences in a dedicated playlist. Here is the first selection distilled from this archive of "quarantine music".
Like all my musical preferences, this playlist doesn't have a specific genre, but the use of electronic instruments is abundant. In this case, I noticed that some of the titles ironically suit our current situation: it’s somewhere between desperation and uncertainty in which we are immersed.
The recurring mood in the afternoons spent on my balcony, absorbing sunlight like a plant, has been waiting but above all relaxation and contemplation. This playlist is a small journey through this relaxed contemplation, fantasizing about a thousand uncertain futures that are also full of opportunities.
I mean, let's face it, when will we ever have so much free time again and empty hands?
